Jeremy Hunt MP is looking for a researcher to join his Westminster office. The role will help support him in his Parliamentary activities focusing in particular on, but not limited to, health, defence, foreign affairs and technology related issues.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking research and writing policy briefings
  • Analysing, evaluating and interpreting data on key policy issues
  • Writing briefing notes for committees, press releases, parliamentary questions and debates
  • Developing and maintaining current knowledge of bills, early day motions, legislation, upcoming parliamentary debates
  • Briefing Mr Hunt on potential questions and motions to be put to the house
  • Advising on policy issues
  • Assisting with political casework from time to time

Essential Experience/Qualities:

  • Strong research and writing abilities
  • Interest in politics and current affairs
  • Highly intelligent with an inquisitive mind and a passion for debate
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent team working ethic
  • Discrete
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of standard office practices and IT packages

Desired Experience/Qualities:

  • Experience of health policy desirable but not essential
