Britain’s biggest campaigning organisation for the over 65s, the National Pensioners Convention (NPC) is looking for a Campaign Officer to join our small London-based staff.
This job offers a unique opportunity for the right candidate with an interest in social policy and politics to work in the following areas:
- Understanding how Parliament works, including meeting ministers and MPs
- Initiating and leading campaigns at a national and regional level
- Conducting research into specific areas of policy
- Promoting the NPC on social media
- Organising events
- Liaising with other organisations, such as trade unions and charities
- Supporting a committee-based voluntary organisation
Hours: currently 30 hours a week
Pension Scheme: auto enrolment on commencement, then 7.5% employer contribution on completion of satisfactory probationary period.

Candidates are asked to consider the scenario below and submit a Campaign Plan on no more than one side of A4.
Scenario
The new government is reconsidering the current legislation that provides a concessionary bus pass for everyone over retirement age. In particular, they want to raise the age of entitlement to 75. Your task is to devise a campaign plan to oppose this move, which should include timescale, activities, key messages, partnership working, media strategy and parliamentary work.
