Job Details

  • provide effective management and leadership to a review team, contribute to the overall management of all review teams and their workload
  • provide effective leadership to a review team, responsibility for the development of team members, establishing individual performance targets and monitoring performance
  • undertake operational planning, identifying and quantifying work streams and overseeing the identification and timetabling of local authority areas where reviews may be required
  • contribute to the LGBCE’s budget setting and monitoring in compliance with Commission processes, ensuring that the review team acts in accordance with the Commission’s policies and procedures as regards financial and other regulations, including any delegated accounting
  • To contribute to the LGBCE’s risk, business continuity, learning & development and operational plans, ensuring that individual review teams comply with the Commission’s risk management and business continuity procedures
  • Working with the Chief Executive and other managers, to manage effectively the LGBCE’s programme of reviews, ensuring that corporate review timetables and quality assurance levels are met
  • proactively keep abreast of policy developments and legislation that may affect the LGBCE’s workload
  • Work with the Director of Strategy & Communications on the development and implementation of the LGBCE’s strategy towards future review work, providing advice to the Chief Executive
  • support the CEO by contributing to research, drafting papers (for internal use or for consideration by Commissioners or staff) and preparing and making presentations to internal and external stakeholders on LGBCE-related issues
  • identify improvements to and contribute to the development of new operational policies and procedures as they relate to Boundary Reviews
  • provide briefings to Commissioners, local authority Group Leaders, Chief Officers, Members of Parliament, other elected members and other external stakeholders, including the media
  • participate in the recruitment and selection of new staff in accordance with the Commission’s Recruitment and Selection Policy and Procedures.
  • lead or participate in ad-hoc projects as designated by the CEO
