Job Details

No one should be left out of life because of sight loss. Imagine a world where being blind or partially sighted is not what defines you. Imagine a world with enough support to make the challenges of sight loss no barrier to fulfilling hopes and dreams. Guide Dogs is working towards that world. We campaign to break down barriers and end discrimination against people with sight loss.

Volunteer with the Guide Dogs campaigns team to get first-hand experience of working with MPs and supporters to push for change for people with sight loss. Get involved with all areas of the campaigns team's work:

  • Contacting Parliamentarians’ offices about Guide Dogs campaigns
  • Keeping our log of contact with Parliamentarians up to date
  • Conducting research around our campaigns and potential collaborative partners
  • Assisting with the use of social media to promote campaigning messages
  • Assisting with the production of campaigning materials
  • Taking minutes at meetings and providing general administrative support
  • The opportunity to support events in Parliament and other campaigning activities

What will I get out of it?

  • Become a valued part of the Guide Dogs team whilst building your campaigning skills and knowledge
  • Gain experience of working as part of a dynamic and successful campaigning team
  • Gain valuable insight into public affairs and campaigning
  • Payment of out of pocket expenses in accordance with Guide Dogs expenses policy

If you have any questions about volunteering with the campaigns team or the application process, please email Pete Mills (pete.mills@guidedogs.org.uk)
