Your role:

We are looking for two lead analysts to pursue a career with a dynamic, exciting and socially responsible employer. The two roles are Lead Analyst Researchers within the research team, one working on our economic and business portfolio and the other working across our public service reform portfolio.

Key areas of responsibility for the Economy and Business role include: timely economic analysis to inform our Local Industrial Strategy and Brexit response. Supporting policy making more broadly across a range of areas: Business and Economy, Housing and Planning, Skills and Employment and Digital. Supporting development of our economic forecasts and dissemination of briefings on a wide of economic and business themes including: business demography, trade and investment, innovation, sector trends and business support. An economic background is highly desirable for this role.

Key areas of responsibility for the Public Service Reform role include: analysis to understand the needs of Greater Manchester residents and whether public services are meeting those needs; supporting decision making by looking at the evidence behind new ways of delivering services, and whether they are value for money; monitoring and evaluating new initiatives to understand whether we are succeeding in improving people’s lives. This work will support policy making across a broad range of areas including: Health, Children’s Social Care, Adult Social Care, Crime and Justice, Early Years and Troubled Families.

You will have considerable experience of working with economic, business and/or social datasets and intelligence to inform policymaking. It is essential that candidates have good knowledge of current debates on the economy and public policy nationally and locally.
