Scottish Renewables is seeking a new Public Affairs Manager to join the organisation’s Communications team. Working closely with colleagues across the staff team and our member organisations, your main responsibilities will be the development and delivery of key messages to UK and Scottish parliaments and other stakeholders with the aim of raising the profile of our policy positions and influencing public policy outcomes in pursuit of Scottish Renewables’ vision of a Scotland leading the world in renewable energy.

Scottish Renewables’ ambitions include securing a viable route to market for all renewable energy technologies by: ensuring policy and regulation is fair, and enables delivery of renewable energy targets; communicating the benefits of renewables; responding to the rapidly-evolving political and policy environment and positioning our organisation as the thought-leader on current and future potential for the growth of renewables, as well as identifying solutions to challenges to that growth.

To do that, the successful candidate will join a Communications team of three which:

• Is responsible for developing and implementing a communications, media and public affairs strategy which delivers Scottish Renewables’ messages to internal and external audiences
• Is responsible for managing stakeholder relationships that influence political and representative group agendas
• Works to build the capacity of Scottish Renewables as an organisation to communicate while contributing strongly to team projects
