A2 Global Risk’s Information Services Division runs a three-month rolling internship programme for London-based postgraduates and postgraduate students interested in gaining practical experience in political and security risk analysis. The internship is offered on a part-time basis, but may be extended to full-time depending on current requirements.
Interns participate in a variety of support activities, including:
- Contributing to A2 Global Risk’s various political and security risk information services through research and writing of country risk reports
- Conducting open source research and participate in media monitoring and lead generation for client reports
- Creating content and regularly updating A2 Global Risk’s social media communications and output
- Assist the marketing and businesses development department with strategic research and marketing of A2 Global Risk’s products
- Support analysts, and the marketing and communications department with ad hoc tasks
- Applicants must be able to demonstrate an academic and/or professional specialism in political, economic and security risks
The ideal applicant will have the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in Regional Studies, International Relations, International Politics, Strategic Studies, Intelligence and International Security, Conflict Studies, National Security Studies, Science and Security, or similar
- Has regional expertise either through academic study, living and/or working in country
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of key political and security threats, and a solid grasp of current affairs
- Excellent written English and ability to deliver to tight deadlines
- Proficiency in at least one additional language relevant to their region
- Familiarity with business-focused research
- Experience with using social media monitoring as a research tool
- IT proficiency and familiarity with MS Office suite
- Experience and understanding of working with content management systems
- Have a right to work in the UK
