Britain Yearly Meeting is recruiting for an Activism Support Coordinator to join its Economics & Sustainability team. This is an ideal role for a ‘people person’ who is passionate about empowering others to work for social change.

You will be working in a team of four people to strengthen a Quaker movement taking action on economic and environmental justice. You will bring a flexible, problem-solving approach to the work, providing advice and support to Quakers working on local projects and campaigns. You will help to build a stronger network of Quaker activists who can learn from and support each other.

Building and nurturing good relationships is key to this role. You will need to respond with empathy and sensitivity to the needs of individuals and groups, and identify how best to support them. You will be working to an agreed workplan, but there is considerable scope for creativity and for contributing to the future direction of the work.

Experience in community development or community organising approaches would be an advantage, but skills are more important than background for this role. We welcome applications from candidates with a diverse range of experience.

This is a part-time (21 hours per week), permanent post.

Britain Yearly Meeting is committed to safeguarding children and adults at risk and expect all our staff and volunteers to share and uphold this commitment.

Quakers have a faith commitment to equality and encourage and welcome applications for posts from all sections of society. You do not have to be a Quaker to apply for this post, but we expect you to uphold the values of our organisation.

Britain Yearly Meeting is committed to equality in all of its employment practices.
