African Child Trust (ACT) is a small UK registered Christian charity established with a mission to relieve and alleviate poverty of widows, orphans and other vulnerable children in Africa. At ACT we are passionate about changing lives and giving opportunities to less privilege children and needy widows to achieve their potential in life. ACT is currently working in 8 countries of Africa.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Finance Manager to join our small team and to manage all aspects of our accounting and financial work, internal control process, budgets and financial planning. You will oversee the work of the assistant Finance Officer. Knowledge of the charity sector would be helpful but is not essential. The role will suit a person willing to use their skills to make a difference.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete month end processes including balance sheet reconciliations
  • Deliver management accounts for Director and Trustees
  • Produce statutory accounts, preparing audit file and participating in the audit examination
  • Manage and monitoring budgets.
  • Claim gift aid on donations
  • Oversee the Assistant Finance Officer

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Accounting would be desirable
  • Proficient in Accounting processes
  • Ability to multi-task, organise, and prioritise work

We are based in Croydon close to the main stations (5 minutes from West Croydon and 10 minutes from East Croydon). While this role is voluntary, all work expenses will be covered by ACT.

Please note this position is voluntary and therefore hours/days are flexible
