For over 50 years the National Children’s Bureau (NCB) has been building a better childhood for all.
We are now seeking an experienced and motivated Social Care Development Officer to support and develop the work of the National Children’s Bureau (NCB) and the Council for Disabled Children (CDC) in relation to social care and transition to adulthood. You will contribute to improvement in frontline practice and outcomes for vulnerable children and young people, including disabled children and young people and those with SEN. Your work will include supporting the delivery of identified elements of NCB’s social care and transition contracts with external agencies and increasing the capacity of NCB to engage with and develop social care and transition policy and guidance.
Some of our recent projects include the national Safeguarding Early Adopter Facilitator programme, the National Lottery Community Fund (NLCF) Headstart programme, delivering a regional social care training programme on SEND, developing a national community of practice on the emerging role of the Designated Social Care Officer (DSCO) for SEND and our ongoing work leading the Transition Information Network (TIN).
