British Antarctic Survey (BAS) is seeking a skilled Communications & Engagement Manager to help develop and deliver the next phase of a strategic Communication & Engagement plan for a new polar ship for Britain.
You will contribute to the co-ordination and delivery of a joint campaign to deliver stakeholder and public engagement in the commission and operation of the RRS Sir David Attenborough. Your role will be to support the delivery of the creation/editing of online editorial content and a social media campaign. You will be the first point of contact for media enquiries about the research ship. You will work directly to the BAS Head of Communications who leads the strategic Communications and Engagement campaign.
You will generally work from BAS Cambridge but you may be required to attend networking and media events as well as meetings with partner organisations. When the ship is fully operational international travel, including to Antarctica may be required.
You will play a full role in the BAS Communications Team, support teams across BAS, and undertake other tasks as requested by the BAS Head of Communications.
