Job Details

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic Policy and Campaigns Team. NAT works on a wide range of issues that affect people living with HIV, focusing on five strategic goals:

• Effective HIV prevention to halt the spread of HIV
• Early diagnosis of HIV through ethical, accessible and appropriate testing
• Equitable access to treatment, care and support for people living with HIV
• Enhanced understanding of the facts about HIV and living with HIV in the UK
• Eradication of HIV-related stigma and discrimination.

To achieve these goals, we work on a range of issues such as long-term condition management, migrant health, drugs policy, poverty and welfare, PrEP, and criminalisation of HIV, to name but a few. We conduct research, draft policy reports and guides for people living with HIV, develop recommendations and advocate for change. We work to influence NHS policymakers, parliamentarians and employers, amongst many others.

For this role, you will have lead responsibility for delivering key elements of the annual monitoring of the HIV and viral hepatitis response in Europe and neighbouring countries on behalf of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). This will involve working with NAT colleagues and expert consultants to design and pilot a survey, analyse the data collected and draft reports with recommendations for national health authorities to improve their response to HIV and viral hepatitis in their countries.

You will be flexible and self-motivated with proven research and communication skills. You will have a good attention to detail and data accuracy, the ability to develop clear policy positions and recommendations, and a commitment to human rights. You will also have good interpersonal skills and the ability to juggle a varied and demanding workload.

NAT welcomes applications from recent graduates and will take into consideration experience from a range of settings.

NAT is committed to equality and diversity and encourages applications from people living with HIV, gay and bisexual men, trans and non-binary people and people from black and minority ethnic communities.
We welcome applications from disabled people and are committed to making reasonable adjustments wherever possible.
