Job Title: Policy Manager
Working For: Art Fund
Salary: £33,000 - £38,000 per annum
Art Fund is the national fundraising charity for art. We are an independent charity committed to a vibrant museums sector. We believe art can make you see, think and feel differently.
We invest around £8million every year to help museums and galleries acquire works of art for their collections, share them with wide audiences, and support the training and development of museum professionals. We are supported by our growing membership of 151,000 through the National Art Pass, as well as the generosity of many trusts, foundations and other individuals. Through our work we make art more accessible to as many museum visitors as possible, wherever they are.
Millions of people visit UK museums every year; they make up seven out of 10 of this country’s most visited free attractions, and are seen by the public as trusted civic spaces for inspiration, education, reflection, and dialogue. But despite this, years of funding cuts have led to a crisis in the sector. And so Art Fund is looking to recruit a dedicated and imaginative self-starter with a background in policy to ensure we play our part in supporting and advocating for our museum partners and colleagues, and to continue to make the case for museums across government, the creative and cultural industries, our members and the general public.
The successful candidate will have great political antennae with an eye for detail as well as the ability to see the big picture, and an excellent track record working with and influencing a wide range of stakeholders.
