The Blavatnik School of Government is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Summer Project and Professional Skills Manager to play a key role in preparing our MPP students to have an impact through their careers in public policy.

The Summer Project and Professional Skills Manager, along with the Degree Programmes Manager, is responsible for ensuring the Programmes team provides outstanding customer service to both students and faculty, and administers the MPP and DPhil degrees to an excellent professional standard. The postholder will contribute to and implement the strategy for delivery of the Summer Project and the Professional Skills programme, suggesting evidence-based improvements and innovations; liaise with past, present and potential Summer Project hosts and nurture those relationships; and curate the Professional Skills programme. They will also be required to deputise for the Degree Programmes Manager as need be and provide effective line management to the staff supporting the Summer Project and Professional Skills programme.

The successful candidate will have a clear knowledge of the attributes and skills required by professionals working in public service and/or public policy and an affinity with the mission of the Blavatnik School of Government. You should be a skilled networker with demonstrable success in positive relationship management with internal and external stakeholders. You will have a strong track record of successfully managing individuals and/or small teams, along with high quality project and time-management skills, able to implement concurrent programmes or long-term projects successfully. Excellent written and verbal communication, numeracy and IT skills, along with excellent team working skills are essential.

This position is fixed-term maternity cover for at least 1 year, with an anticipated start date of Monday 2 March 2020. The post is offered as full-time but part-time applications for a minimum of 80% FTE (30 hours) would also be considered.
