Based at Action for Children, 10 Great Queen Street, Holborn, London, WC2B 5DG, working from The Children's Society, Whitecross Studios, Banner Street, EC1Y 8ST as required.

Action for Children and The Children’s Society are seeking a motivated individual to play a leading role in coordinating the activities of the UK’s leading children’s charities in their ongoing campaign to secure additional investment in services for children and young people provided by local authorities across England.

The successful candidate will begin working at an exciting time and building on a strong foundation of joint working over the past 12 months. The role will be based at Action for Children’s London office with occasional work at The Children’s Society’s London office. You will be managed by the Campaigns and Activism Manager at Action for Children with regular contact time with the Public Affairs Manager at The Children's Society.

If you are a candidate with excellent communication skills, well organised, politically astute, and a grasp of the pressures facing children’s services, this is the role for you.

Key activities of the role will include:

Delivering key elements of the integrated campaign plan
Attending external meetings to represent the campaign
Getting involved in the research element of the campaign
Taking decisions to advance the progress of the campaign
Organising meetings of the children’s charities associated with the campaign, drafting agendas and taking minutes.
Supporting the communications, policy, supporter engagement and public affairs elements of the campaign

In order to be successful in this role, you must have:

Excellent communication and organisational skills
Keen political awareness
Excellent team work skills
Experience of working on a campaign
An ability to understand complex policy areas
