Role Summary

Based at our head office in the City of London, sector advisers capture and contribute industry expertise that enables the CBI to speak on behalf of businesses operating across the whole economy. Our advisors lead CBI support for a sector, ensuring businesses benefit from the CBI’s unrivalled influence, insight and access around public policy.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and commercially-minded individual to become the CBI’s Sector Adviser. The role will focus on Life Sciences & Healthcare one of the most exciting sectors with bold future growth plans at a crucial time for the industry and the wider economy.

The Principle Sector Advisor’s role is highly varied, encompassing policy and some commercial responsibilities. Core responsibilities include leading policy development and lobbying for the industry, as well as driving membership engagement, managing a small number of major members to get the most from their CBI membership, and being our key external representative for the sector.

The successful candidate will collaborate across the CBI’s policy teams – including on issues including skills, innovation, technology, manufacturing and public procurement – to develop targeted lobbying campaigns for the sector. He /she will need to engage with CEO and board level executives in the sector and develop strategies for serving the CBI’s membership within the sector.
