Virginia Crosbie MP, newly-elected Member of Parliament for Ynys Môn, is looking to appoint a hard-working, enthusiastic and experienced full time Welsh-speaking Caseworker based in Ynys Môn or Westminster.

Main duties include, but are not limited to:

• Respond to routine correspondence and enquiries from constituents, the media, lobbyists and pressure groups
• Take initial action on queries from members of the public, including responding on behalf of the MP as appropriate
• Manage and progress portfolio of casework appropriately
• Liaise with Government agencies, voluntary sector and others to resolve constituency matters
• Attend surgeries, tribunals and meetings as appropriate
• Ensure all cases are logged; monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken
• Ensure records are kept and information managed confidentially and in line with the Data Protection Act
• Follow up on social media queries and comments
• Gather relevant information to resolve or progress cases
• Manage constituency projects
• Provide briefings for the MP
• Research local, regional or national issues to support MPs' work

Candidates should have the following skills, experience and qualities:

Good grasp of verbal and written Welsh and English
Excellent organisational and administrative skills
• An ability to deal with constituents’ enquiries in a personable manner and to work well within a small team of colleagues
• Able to manage and prioritise own workload and use their own initiative
• Previous relevant experience is essential
• Ability to manage projects
• Ability to manage a large and varied caseload under pressure
Clear and concise writing style and excellent interpersonal skills
Sympathy with the aims and values of the Conservative and Unionist Party

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
