Are you passionate about tackling health inequalities? Do you want to use your knowledge and experience to drive policy change to improve the lives of people with cancer in the UK? We are looking for a pro-active policy professional with in depth knowledge of the health care system and health inequalities to help shape and drive our policy agenda in this area.

Reporting to the Policy Manager (Health and Care Systems), you will play a leading role in our policy team, using your expertise and knowledge to ensure our policy work is authoritative and relevant to the changing health and care landscape.

Working as part of the Policy and Influence (Health and Care) team, you will develop policy positions and solutions that work across the four nations of the UK. You will work closely with colleagues in Evidence and Macmillan’s service delivery teams to ensure our policy work is highly credible and grounded in the diverse everyday experiences of people affected by cancer and professionals.

You will support the work of colleagues across Policy, Campaigns and Influence, as well as Communications, providing expert advice where appropriate. You will also provide advice to senior colleagues and represent Macmillan externally at events.

You will have an in depth understanding of issues relating to health inequalities and experience of delivering policy change and high-level influencing. You will be able to demonstrate experience of working as part of a team to develop and implement influencing objectives. You will be a skilled communicator with a proven ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
