We are looking for a dynamic, hard-working and committed Account Manager to join our passionate team providing campaigns, policy and public affairs support to charities to make a real and lasting difference. You will develop policy solutions and lead public affairs strategies and campaigns that achieve change on a range of issues including health, education, refugee and migrant rights and social care. We’re looking for someone who is as motivated as we are by the work we do, and who wants to become part of the fabric of our organisation.
(Full-time or 3-4 days a week)
The role
• Manage Principle’s work for at least one but potentially multiple charity clients
• Devise a clear strategy and work plan to tackle specific issues and to manage project work, oversee implementation and achieve positive results
• Manage meeting preparations and lead routine client meetings, offering coherent and concise advice, demonstrating oversight and command of the project and policy detail
• Lead on translating client demands into projects and managing the allocation of tasks within the team
• Develop public affairs strategies to achieve change
• Identify key decision makers and influencers to achieve change on specific policy issues
• Write engaging and succinct reports, briefings, letters, press releases, consultation responses, articles and blogs on complex policy issues
• Engage with politicians at central, devolved government, and local authority level
• Lead on the organisation and delivery of events, e.g. parliamentary receptions, policy roundtables and conferences
• Proactively identify and pursue new project opportunities with charities looking to affect change
• Coordinate project and pitch proposals
Skills
• At least four years’ experience in policy, politics or public affairs
• Able to demonstrate having achieved significant positive change on behalf of charities and their beneficiaries
• Strong management skills
• Strong self-motivation and the ability to work well both within a team in-house as well as remotely
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Highly developed time management skills
• Ability to conduct comprehensive analysis of information to tight deadlines ensuring accuracy and relevance
• Ability to work flexibly across a number of different policy areas

Interviews will be held on 10th and 11th February with the successful candidate to start in March 2020.
