We are looking for someone to join our team on a 12 month contract. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other managers to strategically drive engagement in all of Arts SU’s activity with a view to increasing a sense of community amongst the membership. Democracy is at the heart of everything we do at Arts SU and increasing democratic engagement will be a key performance measure of this role. In this role you will support and increase our members’ democratic engagement through a variety of avenues including Student Council, All-Student Votes and bi-annual elections. You will collaboratively support member and elected officer campaigning across all sites, and use your expertise to create impactful outcomes as a result. In particular you will support our full-time and part-time elected officers, course representatives and Student Council members to develop their campaigning goals through coaching, and achieve their campaigning aims through facilitation and membership engagement. You will lead a team of Activities and Events Co-Ordinators and Representation Co-Ordinators who facilitate student-led activity with a creative edge. You will work alongside our Outlet Managers, Advice & Policy team, our Arts Programming team and our Activities team to provide comprehensive membership services and spaces covering sports, societies, wellbeing & pastoral support and exhibitions amongst other things. Together, you will identify, enhance and facilitate member ideas with an aim to support our members to build their own communities.
