Job Details

We are looking for an experienced, self-starting PR professional to lead our media work. You will play a vital role in building the profile and reputation of the FMB, enhancing our influence at both the national and local level.

You will be joining a high-performing communications team, used to securing regular broadcast, print and trade coverage. Our next challenge is building a profile in the consumer press. We are looking for someone who excels at both reactive and proactive media work. Are you organised and creative, and used to a fast-paced and collaborative work environment? Do you have a track record of producing engaging stories from scratch, and cultivating media contacts? Do you want to learn from an integrated communications, marketing, digital and policy team? Please apply today.

About the FMB
The Federation of Master Builders (FMB) is the largest trade association in the UK construction industry. We have been working with our members to champion continuous improvement in building standards for over 75 years and protect the public from cowboy builders.

Operating across the UK, our 7,500 members – from sole traders to medium sized construction firms – have a key ambassadorial role for the sector through their relationships with consumers. They are also at the forefront of some of the most topical policy and economic issues of the day. Whether it’s by training the next generation of construction workers, building the homes the country needs, or helping the UK reach net zero emissions by 2050, SME builders have a role to play and the FMB has a story to tell.

In return, the FMB works as an independent, not-for-profit organisation, lobbying for our members’ interests and providing services, advice, and a community to support then to grow, improve and protect their businesses.

The construction industry will be instrumental in underpinning the UK’s success post-Brexit. If you are passionate about quality building, consumer protection, a green future, skills and apprenticeships, and telling a great story – we want to hear from you.
