                    Join UEL as a Projects & Policy Manager and you could soon be playing a vital role aimed at helping to deliver a brand new strategic objective for the University.
This challenging role has being created to help inform, shape and develop the facilitating of a number of transformational projects and to project manage their timely delivery. As well as taking the lead on a series of business critical projects, we’ll rely on you to research and write papers for the Board of Governors and other senior staff to inform understanding and set out proposed actions. Drafting institutional policy documents, national consultation responses, bids, speeches and presentations will be a regular feature of the role.
Educated to degree level, you have proven project management and policy analysis and development skills gained in a related area. You’re also used to contributing original ideas and helping to write formal documents for committee/board/policy papers or minutes. Budget planning and monitoring comes naturally to you too, as does being part of a close-knit team, managing and coordinating others and liaising at all levels of an organisation. Sound knowledge of UK higher education sector issues and developments, plus the ability to quickly grasp new and potentially complex issues and their impact on higher education is also important. Numerate and analytical, with strong interpretive skills and a flair for critically evaluating and utilising data and assimilate information from a variety of sources, you’re also willing to travel as necessary, to get the job done.
