We are looking to recruit a Digital Communications Officer to assist and promote Democratic Unionist Members in the Northern Ireland Assembly in the course of their Assembly duties.

Responsibilities
• Creating digital material including images, video and graphics.
• Writing engaging copy for target audiences.
• Creating and editing channel-specific digital content.

The Person
The appointee will be a proven communicator with a good sense of political awareness and ability to develop and establish collaborative relationships both inside and outside the Assembly. They will have a personal drive for results and be motivating and energetic in the pursuit of outcomes.
The successful candidate will display a willingness to keep up to date with technologies and developments and will have experience of monitoring and developing social media channels with the aim of increasing user engagement.

Candidates must have the ability to capture snippets of film and be able to edit it into a cohesive story. Technical acumen to be able to operate, configure, set up, and fix video, audio, lighting, or other production equipment will be required.

It will be vital to be able to work proactively as part of a small team using initiative, to prioritise work and meet deadlines.

Essential Requirements

Able to demonstrate understanding of the following:

• Web Content Management Systems
• Adobe Photoshop or similar graphics package
• Adobe Premiere Pro or similar video editing package
• Online / social media analytic tools such as Google Analytics, Twitter and Facebook Analytics

Desirable Requirement

• Will be a great storyteller, able to present information in a compelling way via a range of channels (social media, web and digital, traditional print media, video, and reports).
• Will have or is working towards a Degree or recognised Professional Qualification or equivalent in Communications, Marketing or Public Relations or equivalent discipline -Will have experience in Corporate Communications/Public Relations or related discipline AND
• Hold a current full driving license which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.

Interview/Start Dates

Based in Belfast this will be a fixed term contract for 18 months with the possibility of extension. The post holder will report into our Communications team.

Working hours are 37.5 per week Monday to Friday with possibility of evenings or weekend depending on workload.
