Mark Logan MP for Bolton North East, is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic new team member in a Communications role based in Bolton.

The successful candidate will help promote the most important issues happening in Bolton North East, and act as a bridge with the MP’s Westminster priorities.

This role will often be demanding, and the successful candidate will thrive on dealing with a diverse collection of problems to maximise positive impact for constituents in Bolton.

This is a Part-Time role with the possibility of becoming Full-Time.

Key responsibilities:

*Organising events that benefit a diverse range of constituents within the community
*Day-to-day management of the MP’s social media accounts and website.
*Along with the MP, design local and national campaigns, and then lead on the implementation of these campaigns. Including evaluation.
*Monitor media stories happening in Bolton North East, Bolton, Greater Manchester and regionally that could have an impact on the constituency
*Collaborate closely with Constituency office team to develop high impact relationships with community groups
*Oversee community relations, including timely dialogue and responding to constituents’ enquiries
*Respond to routine correspondence and enquiries from constituents, the media, lobbyists and pressure groups
*Support work of MP and Constituency Office Manager during periods of increased workload and operational need
*Analysing patterns of enquiries and producing reports
*Provide briefings for the MP
*Retaining records and information confidentially and in line with the Data Protection Act and the office’s General Data Protection Regulation practices

Desirable Skills:

*Previous experience working in Media, Communications or PR
*Experience of running campaigns, both online and offline
*An ability to deal with constituents’ enquiries in a personable manner and to work well within a small team of colleagues
*Able to manage and prioritise own workload and use their own initiative
*Clear and concise writing style
*Ability to carry out tasks quickly and to a high standard
*Ability to manage a large and varied calendar of events
*Qualifications and/or experience with using Facebook, IG, TikTok, Youtube and website management
*Video editing skills will be an advantage
*Sympathetic to the aims and values of the Conservative Party

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
