Could you play an active role in building Macmillan’s policy and influencing on health and care issues?

We are recruiting two Policy Officers with experience of working on health and care policy, who are driven to secure the best possible outcomes for everyone affected by cancer.

Reporting to a Policy Manager in our Health and Care team, the successful candidates will work on a number of projects, with one overarching objective: to secure the best support for everyone affected by cancer.

Working as part of the Policy, Campaigns and Influence team, you will help develop policy positions and solutions that work across the UK.

You will work closely with colleagues to ensure our policy work is highly credible and grounded in the diverse everyday experiences of people affected by cancer. You will also work be responsible for producing a range of high-quality policy materials, including policy publications, consultation responses and briefings, so that Macmillan continues to play a lead role influencing key stakeholders. In addition, you will represent Macmillan externally at events and meetings.

Experience of developing policy in a complex environment is essential. Ideally, you will have experience of influencing government or similar bodies. You will have strong analytical skills and a proven ability to influence others to deliver change. You will be an excellent communicator and able to demonstrate experience of working effectively as part of a team.
