Job Details

Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Research issues and topics to support Lord Gadhia’s work both inside and outside Parliament.
• Develop knowledge in specialist areas as required by Lord Gadhia.
• Analyse, evaluate and interpret data to ensure Lord Gadhia is accurately informed on key issues and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation.
• Prepare briefing notes for meetings and drafts of articles, speeches and press releases.
• Ensure Lord Gadhia is fully briefed ahead of engagements and meetings inside and outside Parliament.
• Respond to routine correspondence and enquiries from the public, media and external organisations.
• Lead on specific projects as required by Lord Gadhia.
• Liaise with groups/personnel at Westminster and the general public on Lord Gadhia’s behalf as necessary in a professional and courteous manner.
• Supervise interns where appropriate.
• Monitor media coverage and brief Lord Gadhia accordingly.
• Competent use of IT including Microsoft Office package, email, internet and social media to: draft correspondence and reports; set up and maintain spreadsheets and undertake research.

Provide efficient administrative support:
• Ownership of Diary Management and Contact Database.
• Manage and monitor incoming calls, emails and enquiries, prioritising workload and responding to enquiries by telephone, email and letter ensuring enquiries are dealt with promptly, sensitively and confidentially.
• Handling administrative arrangements for meetings.
• Provide generalist admin support to ensure smooth running of Westminster office.
