Job Details
Are you motivated by ensuring the needs of customers are placed at the heart of service delivery? Are you interested in the role that the energy sector has in decarbonising our heat supply? Do you have experience in independent governance?
Heat Trust is seeking to appoint an Independent Chair who will provide support and guidance to ensure the smooth running of its Stakeholder Committee.
Working closely with the Heat Trust Director, the Chair will ensure that the group functions properly, that all relevant matters are discussed and that effective decisions are made and carried out.
The Chair will have a key role in supporting a fledgling sector to drive forward improvements, prepare for future statutory regulation, and help ensure regulatory developments are proportionate and robust.
The role of an Independent Chair will ideally be held by a person with some knowledge and understanding of governance, customer protection, regulation and auditing.
In order to avoid any possible conflict of interest and to ensure that the post holder is, and is perceived to be, independent, applicants should not work directly within the heat network sector.
There will be up to four Committee meetings per year based in London. Preparation will also be required before/after, and on occasion, between meetings. On occasion, the Chair may be required to participate in meetings of the Heat Trust Board. A day-rate will be paid.
The appointment will be for a fixed term of two-years, with the ability to re-appoint at the end of each two-year term up to a maximum of eight years.
