Job Details

Executive Director: Organisational Development

This role works alongside the Executive Director for Strategy and Fundraising to lead NEON, deputising for one another where needed and supporting the development of the overall organisation. You will manage and set-up the organisational systems, processes and culture that underpin all of our work. The role’s seniority shows how important this work is to NEON and the status with which we hold it.

This will look like building and training staff to implement the human systems that help people work together: decision making, information sharing, resource allocation, giving kind and constructive feedback and handling conflict. NEON’s culture and commitment to anti-oppression is at the very core of all of our work. This role will ensure the systems and strategies are in place to maintain and refresh our culture and implement anti-oppression across all of our work. This role will also develop a system for building the staff management and leadership competencies required for high performance, role modelling NEON’s values and enacting our commitment to anti-oppression.

About NEON:

The New Economy Organisers Network (NEON) is a not-for-profit company with 12 staff members, growing to up to 15 staff by the end of this year. We also work with a range of contractors and Associates and incubate other organisations. We are a network of over 1,600 UK organisers from different trade unions, grassroots groups, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), faith-based campaigns, civil society groups and movements from across the country.
We run powerful trainings and support campaigns to help progressives win social, economic and environmental justice. We offer movements a range of support, from helping people lead movements like Just Treatment (organising patients to fight for the NHS), through to working with our members on over 2,500 media bookings on the UK’s biggest TV and radio channels. We’re ambitious and the team is agile, fast paced and committed to actually changing things.
