Rutland & Melton Conservative Association (RMCA) is seeking to recruit a talented and highly motivated individual for the position of Office Administrator. 
Working hours will be varied and flexible and include some evening and weekend work, given the nature of political activity, availability of voluntary memberhip and Association officers. Travel will be required around the Constituency for meetings, etc.

RMCA will offer flexibility to the role to fit the individual needs of the successful candidate.

Key responsibilities include, but not exclusively:

  • Maintain and manage the Membership database of the Association
  • Supporting the Assoication's Agent, keep in regular contact with Party members through events diaries and maintaining the monthly e-newsletter for campaigning and events, support the administration of elections
  • Maintain a list of all Executive, Management and Branch committees
  • To develop a sound understanding of the Association Rules to support the Officers and Branches
  • Manage and maintain the Association Website
  • Arrange Meetings and book venues
  • Take minutes of meetings and circulate them in a timely manner
  • Manage correspondence, sorting post and answering phone calls
  • Work with the Office of the Member of Parliament to ensure a good working relationship
  • Draft, format and send out letters to members and Councillors, where necessary
  • Support the Fund Raising Committee and Management Team by assisting with Events, including ticket sales and advertising
  • Maintain office supplies
  • Support the Treasurer with administration tasks
  • Maintain a record of donations in accordance with the Electoral Commission
  • Co-ordinate the end of year reports
  • Manage volunteers assistaing with Office tasks and duties

 

The Office Administrator will report to the Chair of the Association and will work closely with the elected Officer of the Association

Skills and Qualifications required:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and without supervision
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programmes
  • Familiarity with managing websites
  • Applicant should have keen political awarenesss and be sympathetic to the Conservative Party values.
