Shout Out UK is a multi-award winning education brand providing world-class training and programmes on Media & Political literacy and a platform to voice opinion and incite positive change.

The Position:

You will be joining our small, passionate team to coordinate our communications. The role involves expanding, improving and running our communications channels. The aim is to engage with more schools, young people and MPs in Parliament.

We are looking for someone with a passion for political literacy and has experience with both social media and communications in general, who wants to support the expansion of Shout Out UK as an organisation.

The applicant needs to be motivated, dedicated and confident working with young people and politicians.

Key Responsibilities:

Build relationships with the media and other opinion formers
Oversee the media record keeping and reporting
Draft op-eds and write proactive and reactive press releases
Represent Shout Out UK at events and speaking engagements
Work with the Head of Education to publicise new courses and Eportal features to schools and politicians
Recruit and support schools and teachers across the UK
Run Shout Out UK’s social media accounts
Occasionally travel nationally and/or internationally, if required
Fulfil other duties as reasonably requested

Requirements:

Experience in communication or journalism
Confidence
Good writing and speaking skills
Sales and marketing/PR skills
An understanding of and interest in UK politics
Ability to organise, prioritise and manage a diverse workload
Dedication to political education and engagement of young people
