The Bank of England is the UK's central bank. Its mission is to deliver monetary and financial stability for the British people. The role of its Parliamentary Affairs Group (PAG) is:
•To strengthen the Bank’s relationship with Parliament, to whom it is accountable
•To inform and explain to colleagues the political developments and risks that could affect their work or the Bank more generally.

The Parliamentary Affairs Analyst is primarily responsible for providing excellent analysis of the political environment and enhancing the Bank’s public accountability to Parliament.

Role Requirements

Minimum (Essential) Criteria
•Solid experience and track record of working with parliamentary procedures and the policy-making process in the UK.
•An ability to work at pace, with demonstrable track record of meeting several concurrent deadlines and juggling competing priorities.
•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written as well as a proven track record of tailoring information to different audiences.
•Experience of working both independently and as part of a team and delivering results which have led to measurable outcomes.
•An ability to develop a network of working relationships, particularly with those outside your immediate team, across a large organisation.

Desirable Criteria
•Excellent political judgement to understand the drivers of political decisions and how these could impact the Bank of England’s objectives.

Interview/Start Dates

9am, 20 July - interviewees will be sent a short written test to complete before 9am the next day.
The first-round interviews will then take place on Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 July.
A few candidates will then be selected for a second round interview on Monday 27 July.
