We seek a corporate communications professional to join a busy Stakeholder and Communications team as a Communications Adviser. Reporting to the Communications Manager, you will work collaboratively across the organisation and its subsidiaries to provide exceptional media and public relations expertise.

The successful candidate will uphold the quick, pithy and accurate day-to-day running of the busy press office, including news monitoring, responding to queries, selling in stories, supporting campaigns and events, taking part in on call rota, updating briefing documents, building relationships and ensuring media contacts are up to date. They will contribute to and support integrated communications campaigns on a range of high profile and exciting issues and work closely with the Communications team to spot and exploit opportunities for proactive positive content
Creative, versatile written and oral communications skills, including speech writing, creating advanced presentations and digital content, are essential. Candidates should have strong news sense and be a good team player with an ability to manage relationships and the drive to work across teams to deliver targeted communications to multiple audiences.

This is an exciting role in a high-profile organisation so an understanding of energy issues in general and the oil and gas industry in particular is desirable but not essential, together with a nose for the newsworthy story. You must be able to demonstrate a keen interest in the industry, as well as the capacity to cope under pressure.
