Chris Green MP is looking for a full-time Caseworker to be based in his busy constituency office in Bolton West.

Duties include:

• Draft responses to constituent emails and letters, including policy queries and constituency issues
• Ensure cases are dealt with in a sensitive, confidential and timely manner
• Ensure records of contact with constituents are kept, adhering to the Data Protection Act and respecting the confidentiality of data at all times
• Liaising with Government agencies, voluntary groups and local businesses
• Attending advice surgeries and meetings
• Monitor media coverage, liaise with media, prepare press releases as required
• There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of the normal working hours and travel for work occasionally

Skills required include:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• A desire to provide a high quality service to constituents
• Awareness of central and local government structures
• The ability and desire to learn quickly and take on board new challenges
• Good IT skills including knowledge of MS Office packages
• Highly organised and capable of dealing with a large and varied workload
• Ability to drive would be advantageous
• Some evening and weekend work will be required
