Job Details

You’ve got the skills. Now make them count.

At MI5, we play an essential role in keeping the country safe. As threats continue to evolve, so must our capabilities. As a Senior Programme Manager, you’ll lead multi-million pound transformational programmes that will help us protect the country and its people. With national security at stake, this could be your most important challenge yet.

In this critical leadership role, you’ll take charge of large-scale programmes that are crucial to front line staff. Unique and often innovative, most involve business change and substantial technological delivery. You’ll be the driving force behind your programmes’ success, setting direction and inspiring your team to perform. Day to day, you’ll take each programme from its earliest stages through to implementation, early life support and eventual closure. On the way, you’ll be making decisions, balancing demands and managing a £20m+ budget. With this degree of responsibility, you’ll be a central figure, working with contacts across the organisation.

A skilled Programme Manager, your CV reveals a history of large-scale, system integration delivery. Iterative planning techniques, progress tracking and financial management will all be second nature. Ideally, you’ll have relevant qualifications to back up your expertise. Good tech knowledge will also help, particularly emerging trends and cloud technology. You’ll also have the people skills that come with high-level programme management: the ability to build robust relationships and expertly manage stakeholders.

In return, we can offer excellent benefits and the chance to take your career further. However, it’s the chance to improve our organisation that you’ll really find rewarding.

MI5 is an Equal Opportunities employer, committed to reflecting the society we protect. Our recruitment process is fair, transparent and based on merit. We particularly welcome applications from diverse and under-represented groups.
