The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Embassy’s engagement with faith communities (Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, etc.) and grass-root advocacy groups in the UK. Therefore the employee must have a deep understanding and appreciation of those of faith and their communities, as well as an interest in grass-root activities across the UK.
The Inter-Faith Officer will be required to organise large and small-scale activities across the UK, ensuring positive engagement and collaboration between Israel and the UK; this includes responding to speaker requests and creating, maintaining and developing relationships with key stakeholders.
The employee should be an organised, energetic and self-motivated person, with a passion for promoting Israeli cooperation within institutions and communities in the UK.
The individual is expected to demonstrate an adaptive and eager personality, as they will be required to engage with internal and external figures. This includes cross-departmental collaboration within the Embassy, and engaging with external communities and organisations at all levels.
The role entails administrative work as well as emerging responsibilities which are not strictly laid-out in this job description.
Requirements:
- BA in a relevant field - essential
- Broad knowledge of the religious spectrum - essential
- Two years of previous professional experience - essential
- Good command of Microsoft Office - essential
- Knowledge of the political climate in Israel and the UK
- Good understanding of social media outlets
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Public speaking experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Highly organised
- Highly motivated
- Ability to work in a team
- Good use of initiative
