Here at Babcock we are looking to recruit a Public affairs Manager to support the Group Head in the planning, coordination and delivery of our public affairs strategy and outputs, taking personal ownership of particular projects and on-going tasks/responsibilities.
You will also develop, refine and manage the company’s relations and activities with agreed parts of the UK government and UK Parliament, relevant industry associations, and broader, political opinion-forming stakeholders.
Furthermore, you will assist as need be in facilitating ad hoc relationships with – and monitoring of – the Scottish and Welsh Government and Parliaments, the LGA and the Northern Ireland Executive/Assembly.

What do I need to be able to do the role?
You will need to be degree educated and have experience within British politics. This will include a good working knowledge of the current political scene, UK government and Parliamentary processes, party political structures and key political contacts. A thorough understanding of UK defence policy is crucial. You will also need to have demonstrable Project management skills to plan and manage successful public affairs campaigns

We would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:
Strong communicator but in collaborative fashion
First rate writing skills
Ability to learn and adapt and work flexibly/creatively in the COVID era
