Job Details

Central London Forward (CLF) is the strategic sub-regional partnership covering the local authorities of:

  • Camden
  • City of London
  • Hackney
  • Haringey
  • Islington
  • Kensington and Chelsea
  • Lambeth
  • Lewisham
  • Southwark
  • Tower Hamlets
  • Wandsworth
  • Westminster

We work to the direction set out by our Board, made up of member Leaders, to improve the lives of residents by working to drive inclusive growth.

Central London’s communities and businesses face unprecedented challenges and change due COVID-19. Local authorities play a key role in responding to this crisis and are working to protect and rebuild sustainable and safe high streets, town centres and workspaces. This role will support this - working with our boroughs and others to identify new responses and ideas and to share high quality insights and analysis that make a real difference.

Working with the Senior Policy Manager you will lead projects focused on regeneration, placemaking and infrastructure. This will include activity focusing on:

  • High streets and town centres
  • Licensing and planning
  • Workspace and physical infrastructure
  • Transport
  • Digital infrastructure

You will have the opportunity to develop and lead a workstream of campaigns, communications and public affairs activity, and lobby national government and other stakeholders to support the economic and social recovery of central London.

When you join this busy team, you will make a profound impact on the lives of our local community, while setting your own career on a steep trajectory. You will need a good knowledge of the policy context for the role that local authorities play in place-making, regeneration, and enabling transport and digital infrastructure. You will have experience in using best practice and research to develop practical policy and programme recommendations, and excellent skills in communicating complex ideas. You will have an open, enthusiastic and collaborative approach and be willing to take on new challenges. In return we will support you to build an extensive and powerful network of policy makers and influencers, and the opportunity to share your insights and ideas on a London and national stage.

CLF is committed to equal opportunities and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
