We’re currently recruiting for a Research and Policy Manager (Public Sector) to join the Professional Insights team in London. This is a fixed term contract until September 2021.

The Job

On a day to day basis, you’ll be involved in the following:
• Generating, in collaboration with ACCA colleagues and external subject specialists, high-quality professional content on key issues relating to the Public Sector that provides ACCA member value and can be tailored for communication to our internal and external audiences
• Influencing external stakeholders to ensure ACCA’s contribution to the development of policy and practice on key Public Sector issues
• Working closely with the Head of Public Sector and Portfolio Head - Business Futures to ensure that the plans for Professional Insights fully reflect and anticipate developments in the Public Sector and align with ACCA’s Public Sector strategy
• Supporting the management of ACCA’s Public Sector Global Forum – a respected group of international experts and leaders in public sector finance
• Advising a wide range of internal stakeholders (including colleagues in Markets and Public Affairs) on the delivery of key messages relevant to Public Sector audiences

The Person
We’re looking for someone who:

• Is degree educated or equivalent (preferably in a discipline relevant to producing Public Sector research and insights)
• Is a professionally qualified (CCAB) accountant – desirable but not essential
• Possesses a good understanding of the Public Sector landscape, and the ability to develop policy positions on relevant areas
• Can demonstrate an understanding of broader key accountancy issues, as well as issues impacting the development of the accountancy profession in the Public Sector (preferred)
• Has the ability to build and develop effective internal and external networks
• Has strong project management and organisation skills with the ability to think ahead and plan accordingly
• Has strong writing skills and a capacity to produce a broad range of compelling thought leadership and insight content
