Richard Holden MP is looking to recruit a part-time Constituency Caseworker to join his office in Consett, North West Durham. The role is part-time (Wednesday-Friday). The role will involve assisting individuals in resolving their issues and undertaking casework-related tasks. The successful applicant will have excellent verbal and written skills, good knowledge of the North West Durham constituency and a positive approach to work.

You will work alongside the Constituency Caseworker and will report directly to the Office Manager.

You will be given full training in how to use our constituency database systems.

Duties and responsibilities will include:
• Dealing with queries from members of the public
• Taking phone calls and greeting constituents who visit the office
• Gathering relevant information to assist constituents with their cases
• Liaising with Governmental departments, local authorities and external organisations
• Using the office database to monitor casework progress and track cases
• Retaining information in line with GDPR regulations
• Working alongside the existing caseworker to ensure casework is managed appropriately

• Friendly and professional manner
• A willingness to help constituents

The following skills are desirable:
• Sympathetic to the aims and values of the Conservative party

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
