The Royal Society is looking for three experienced policy professionals to take up senior roles across our portfolios of work on emerging technologies, data, digital technologies and AI. The Society’s work is addressing the implications of emerging technologies and demonstrating the risks and benefits of new technologies, and how they can be developed in a well-governed way. The Society has an influential programme of publications and activities on data, AI and emerging technology, focused on creating the conditions for these technologies to develop in a well-governed way, so that their benefits can be extended to widest society, and so that they can be applied to address critical policy and societal challenges.

The successful applicants for these roles will have a strong track record of helping shape and inform corporate, national and or international policy in science, research and technology, working with and through others to deliver tangible impact, and of building and leveraging senior stakeholder networks.

We also expect the successful candidates to have the versatility and breadth of interests and skills to support work in other programmes as the need arises. This includes work related to the Society’s other major policy themes in Education, Wellbeing, and Research and Innovation.
