PoliticsHome and The House are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Political Content Journalist to support our growing multimedia products.

You will play a key role in delivering online and print political engagement for our clients, ranging from some of the largest corporations on the planet to very specific sector campaigners, playing an active part in ensuring that organisations maximise their impact with our platforms.

As part of a fast-paced, news-focussed environment, your daily challenge will be to work closely with clients to shape the political news agenda, creating engaging written content, interviews with prominent stakeholders and covering events with key political speakers.

Our political engagement clients work across a range of multimedia platforms, meaning your skillset will need to cover content for online, print, video, events and podcasts.

Key responsibilities include:

• Creating written content for our clients, including interviews and event coverage.
• Writing original articles from source, including reports and press releases, ensuring the maximum impact on our platforms
• Uploading editorial work/press releases for clients promptly
• Liaising with clients, understanding their policy challenges and shaping relevant content
• Crafting content for podcasts and video

The ideal candidate will have:

• At least two years’ experience writing content in a digital or print environment;
• An interest and understanding of politics and the UK public affairs industry;
• The ability to draft engaging copy that will appeal to a parliamentary audience
• Experience working with online content management systems and analytics;
• Experience working with multimedia, including video and/or podcasts;
• A keen interest and understanding of how social media, including Twitter, can be utilised to facilitate online communications;
• Understanding of/experience working with clients;
• Strong commercial awareness;
• Excellent organisational and time management skills;
• The ability to prioritise tasks effectively and support a busy team;
