Job Details

The President is the most senior post in the College, with a national and international leadership position in psychiatry. This new role will directly support the work of the recently-elected College President, Dr Adrian James, as he takes forward an ambitious set of priorities. These include achieving parity of esteem, addressing workforce wellbeing, championing diversity and the needs of marginalised groups, and sustainability.

We are looking for a dynamic individual who can work across a wide range of policy areas, and with staff across the organisation, to ensure the President is provided with high quality and relevant information for meetings and events.

The successful candidate will understand the importance of identifying and seizing opportunities to promote College policy and achieve change, ensuring there are clear objectives for the President’s engagements. In doing so, you will need to be able to undertake your own research and analysis, and work with and utilise the expertise and experience of College representatives and staff.

You will need excellent planning and communication skills, and enjoy working with a wide range of people. The post-holder will sit within the Policy and Campaigns team, with a direct link (through matrix management) to the External Affairs team.

The College values a diverse workforce and welcomes applications from all sections of the community, reflecting the population it serves.

We only recruit the best and in return for your commitment the College offers an attractive salary and benefits.
