Job Details

About RUSI
The Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) is the world’s oldest and the UK’s leading defence and security think tank. Its mission is to inform, influence and enhance public debate on a safer and more stable world. RUSI is a research-led institute, producing independent, practical and innovative analysis to address today’s complex challenges.

About the role
The global response to cyber threats is fragmented. While governments, industry and researchers continue to develop different approaches to mitigate threats, threat actors in cyberspace are becoming more aggressive and inventive. Cyber risks will only increase in the coming years, owing to the Internet of Things and global tech-dependency. It has never been more important for the global cyber community to work together to achieve the cyber security needed in an uncertain future.

The RUSI cyber security programme supports UK and international strategic responses to cyber security challenges. Research and knowledge sharing are aimed at both policymakers and practitioners.

RUSI wishes to appoint a Research Analyst to work across its cyber security portfolio. The successful applicant will support a research programme dedicated to global cyber security challenges. They will specifically work on ongoing projects relating to the globalisation of technology and/or cyber risk management incentives. The RUSI Cyber Research Group operates as a collaborative team and, while the successful candidate will focus on specific projects, they will also need to work successfully in a team environment.

This position is offered as a one-year fixed term contract in the first instance. On offer is a salary of £24,000- £33,000 per annum depending on skills and experience. We are open to consider applicants interested in part time work or applicants with significant experience seeking project work.

Closing Date: 30 September 2020
