Public Policy Projects is looking for a Junior Policy Editor to work on leading infrastructure, health, care and life sciences publications. The Junior Policy Editor will work closely within the Editorial Team to develop and publish policy news, insight and analysis features both online and in print. Public Policy Projects’ policy publications have an excellent track record of delivering high quality analysis on the big issues affecting the policy in the UK and around the world. Our Editorial Team is looking for an ambitious new member of the team to develop these publications and generate readership as our company grows.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Producing insightful policy news articles and features for print and online
  • Contributing towards editorial strategy and content across core policy publications, including online content for websites, print publications, weekly digital newsletters and social media
  • Commissioning content from external contributors
  • Conducting interviews with thought public policy leaders in health, life sciences, social car, infrastructure
  • Reporting on internal and external conferences and events
  • Transcribing and writing-up interviews conducted by yourself or editorial team members
  • Proofreading/sub-editing content

  • Manages projects, activities and resources effectively
  • Encourages open discussion of different ideas and views; welcomes and solicits feedback
  • Instils continuous improvement mind-set and champions best practices
  • Happy to lead from the front and roll up sleeves if necessary

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working within a publishing or policy environment
  • Can produce high-quality written content
  • A high standard of proofreading/sub-editing skills
  • Ability to work to regular deadlines
  • Experience working in PR or government affairs

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BSc (Hons) degree, at least 2:1 or above
