Job Details
Policy Advisor
We’re seeking an analytical policy professional with proven policy experience to join our Westminster based team supporting the development and communication of a broad range of small business-related policy issues. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop skills across a broad range of policy areas, support research and provide high quality thought leadership and recommendations. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work across a number of new and evolving policy themes, providing a floating resource across all areas of policy within FSB’s Westminster based policy team.
We’re looking for a candidate with the ability to pick up and learn new policy areas quickly and flexibly. In this role, you’ll be required to have excellent analytical skills, including the ability to get to the heart of an issue quickly and understand technically complex information and data whilst working at a fast pace.
Senior Policy Advisor
FSB is seeking an experienced policy professional with a rich understanding of UK small business policy, preferably with experience and working knowledge of finance and tax policy. In this role, you will assume responsibility for developing FSB’s policy position on a number of varied high-profile areas, beginning with issues related to poor payment practice, a fair and simple tax system, access to finance and better business banking. However, this role will be expected to expand beyond these policy areas over time, providing an increasingly holistic approach to small business policy development. At FSB, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to broaden their expertise and gain experience across a range of new and exciting policy areas.
FSB is the UK’s leading business organisation with an unparalleled voice to those in power. You will have the opportunity to undertake primary research and develop published policy reports to be used across the FSB network. As the successful candidate, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with small business members and external stakeholders, including MPs, civil servants and small business owners from across the UK.
