This is a new post, part funded by the English Liberal Democrats, part-funded by the South East Region Liberal Democrats and managed on behalf of the South East Region by the Association of Liberal Democrat Councillors (ALDC).

You will be responsible for helping to develop the resources and capacity of local parties which have yet to win their first principal authority councillor. You will also support our Regional Development Officer in his work with current and potential election candidates and activists to develop their confidence, skills and capacity, with a particular focus on parties in the “Development” category.

There is a specific emphasis for this postholder to increase the diversity of our candidates and activists across all parties so that we reflect the communities we wish to represent. The postholder will work closely with the Diversity Officer of the Regional Executive (a volunteer elected post).

The post is 4 days per week and you will be home based.

The post will be paid pro-rata for a fixed term from a start date to be mutually agreed to 31st December 2020. The region wishes to continue the post into 2021 if funds can be secured.
