Peter Aldous MP is looking to recruit a full-time Parliamentary Assistant for his Westminster office.

The skills and qualities being sought from candidates are:

• Enthusiasm, self-motivation, efficient organisation
• Ability to work under pressure without supervision
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Ability to work quickly, accurately and co-operatively as part of a team
• Possession of IT and communication skills
• Sound political judgement; commitment to politics and Conservative Party
• Research skills to draft articles and correspondence
• Previous Parliamentary experience

Main responsibilities will include:

• Parliamentary and constituency research
• Correspondence, both political and casework
• Preparation of briefings
• Liaison with outside organisations
• Respond to routine enquiries and correspondence
• Monitoring Parliamentary Business and briefing Member
• General office support as required
• Supporting and monitoring social media
• Management and implementation of projects
• Line management of interns
