You’ll play a key role in raising NHS Blood and Transplant’s (NHSBT) profile and increasing public awareness of blood, organ, convalescent plasma, tissue and stem cell donation.
You will support the Head of Corporate Communications in developing and implementing all areas of our corporate communications strategy; supporting our aims and objectives; promoting the purpose of the organisation and maintaining our professional corporate image and reputation with external stakeholders.
As an experienced communications professional you will be responsible for developing, managing and delivering our external communications. Your work will focus on and cover external affairs, stakeholder engagement, Government and DHSC relations, public affairs, and intelligence led policy matters.
Handling a large and constantly changing workload in a busy environment you will need to handle reputational issues under pressure; providing management and advice to colleagues across the organisation as well as developing positive relationships with external stakeholders.
Your instinctive approach to communications, first class judgement and sound media and political awareness will ensure that you excel in this role.

The successful candidate may be located at Liverpool, Bristol, Birmingham or Tooting Blood Centre. London HCAS will apply to Tooting Blood Centre base.
The normal working hours for this role are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on a fixed term basis for 12 months starting in December 2020.
