Mr Jones is seeking to appoint a Policy Assistant to remotely join his team.

This is a part-time position.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, a strong team player, with excellent attention to detail, and preferably experience of working in Parliament.

Skills required:

• Previous Parliamentary experience desirable;
• Excellent writing and interpersonal skills;
• Proficiency in the use of MS Outlook, Word and Excel;
• Strong communication skills;
• Ability to work quickly and calmly under pressure;
• Enthusiastic and self-motivated with a strong proactive work ethic;
• Ability to work independently.

Key responsibilities:

• Efficient data and file management to ensure the office complies with data protection legislation
• Engage confidentially, professionally, with care and integrity with members of the public;
• Exposure and management of complex cases
• Give advice on policy issues
• Have working knowledge of relevant legislation and upcoming business including how they impact on the constituency;
• Progress and assist with casework as required;
• Provide generalist admin support;
• Respond to routine correspondence and enquiries.
