Job Details
Usually based at our Cannon Place office but presently working from home, the CBI is recruiting two Policy Advisors to join either its Employment or Innovation Policy team. These roles are a great opportunity to join the UK’s largest and most influential business representative organisation at a time of unprecedented political and economic change.
The CBI works with businesses and the government to influence policy and business practices that deliver prosperity for all. For the Employment Policy team, this means influencing the conditions that support jobs and ensure that UK employment is both flexible and fair.
The flexibility of the UK’s labour market underpins its competitiveness and supports jobs growth. Equally, being treated fairly by your employer is the biggest determiner of trust in business and core to driving the UK’s productivity.
As the impact of the coronavirus pandemic throws the resilience of the UK’s labour market and changing employment relationship into sharp relief, these issues have never been more important.
For the Innovation Policy team, this means working to improve the environment for innovation in the UK, both the adoption of innovation and R&D. Supporting innovation will be essential to recovery; whether that is to drive productivity, resilience and new ways of working or to address major challenges such a successful transition to a net zero economy.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work with companies to shape and influence policy and best practice to help businesses and the UK recover, adapt and thrive.
Candidates should indicate whether they would like to be considered for either one of, or both of, the policy roles.
